Hamilton Finishes 19th In Chicago

The 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series continued to follow script at the Chicagoland Speedway this weekend.   The Toyota horsepower once again dominated the action as Kyle Busch ran away with the victory.    Eckrich Farms driver Bobby Hamilton worked hard to keep pace and brought the # 25 Team Rensi Ford home in 19th position.   There may be hope for non-Toyota teams as NASCAR confiscated ten engines following the race to perform research tests.

Hamilton qualified in the 14th position after recording the third fastest lap in the lone practice session on Thursday.  A former winner at Chicagoland, Hamilton clearly knows his way around the track.

The car struggled a bit with handling over the first half of the race, and Hamilton raced from 15th-20th for the first 100 laps.   The car improved for the next run before ending the evening in 19th place on lap 200.

"It's tough out here, we can get our car handling for periods in the race, but the Toyota's drive right on by everyone," Hamilton said.  "My guys are working hard and we are still excited about the next few weeks of racing."

Next week, the Series heads to St Louis for Saturday night racing action.
