Special Logo for Team Rensi Teammates in Phoenix
Mooresville, NC (October 24, 2007) –The NASCAR family is a very public supporter of our troops and for the race on November 10th at Phoenix International Raceway in observance of Veterans Day, Team Rensi Motorsports’ two Busch Series teams will adorn a special logo for the non-profit organization, Freedom Is Not Free. The organization aims at aiding wounded service members, their families and the families of the fatally wounded. With men and women in the armed forces fighting for our freedom in the Iraq War casualty repots are barely making page six news and the Freedom Is Not Free organization is making sure that the relatives affected by an injury or casualty have the funding to travel, have a home, an education and continue to live a fulfilled life.
Freedom Is Not Free is a non-profit organization whose main belief is that the injury or loss of a hero has a far broader effect, on others beyond the specific individual. They wanted to create an environment where their many donations would actually go to those that are in need. Their many efforts in aiding soldiers and their families include emergency funds, homes for our heroes, mentorship programs, emergency travel fun, and sports and education camp.
For Richard Johns, driver of the No.25 FreeCreditReport.com Team Rensi Motorsports entry, the ability to carry a logo that supports our troops and those families that are so deeply affected by the War is a very special experience. Recently Johns had a helmet designed by a St. Jude cancer survivor and having another chance to give back to fans is something Johns is very eager to do.
“I am very proud to be a part of this for Veterans Day,” said Johns. “I like that I have the ability to show my support for our service men and women. This organization is pretty amazing with all the things that they do and all of their donations going to the soldiers and their families. I hope that by carrying this logo I’m able to create some awareness for this Freedom Is Not Free organization.”
Johns and the No.25 FreeCreditReport.com Ford will carry the Freedom Is Not Free Logo for the Arizaona.Travel 200 on Saturday, November 10th. The race can be seen on ESPN2 at 4PM EST and heard on MRN radio. Johns has also cut a spot that will air on Nextel Vision throughout the weekend to promote the cause. In addition, he will be signing autographs in the Freedom Is Not Free booth on the midway from 4 – 5 PM on Friday afternoon.
