Hamilton Runs Strong in Texas
With only three races remaining entering Saturday’s Texas Motor Speedway 300 mile Busch Series race, Eckrich Ford driver Bobby Hamilton was ready to close the season out with a strong finish. The Team Rensi organization has been working extra hard to prepare for the constant onslaught of Cup Series teams and drivers into the Busch Series. That hard work paid off on Saturday with Hamilton qualifying in the 12th position and finishing 14th.
Throughout the entire event, Hamilton held strong, running inside the top-ten at times. The Team Rensi Motorsports performed well in leading Hamilton to the strong afternoon of racing. With the 14th place finish, Hamilton maintains his sixth place standing in the Busch Series Point’s Championship. He stands 142 points behind fifth place David Ragan and 97 points ahead of seventh place Stephen Leicht. With two solid finishes in Phoenix and Homestead, Hamilton can maintain his current standing of sixth.
“We ran really well today, the car performed well for us, this was a good afternoon of racing for our team,” Hamilton said. “If we can get the car to handle this well the last two races of season, we will feel really good heading into the off-season.”
Kevin Harvick captured the win on Saturday.
Next Saturday, the Busch Series will take the green flag at Phoenix International Raceway, check your local listings for broadcast times in your area.
